Svalafjellet
Sunny weather didn’t remain long. In the middle of the week it started rain but on Friday there was quite nice again. Forecast announcing rain from noon next day. So, I could plan a short trip on Saturday morning. I decided to go on Svalafjellet, where I failed a week earlier. This time I prepared better. I looked through and printed out maps from internet. On Saturday morning I went to Ølen and parked near garden center (this is the same place where you can go to Svartafjell).

I walked the same path which I did last Sunday, but this time I knew exactly where to go and soon I founded a faded plaque with the name of the mountain. I followed the sign, but soon realized that there is no path here (or I didn’t see any). And thus, I went across fields and forests. The temperature around zero ensured stable, frozen ground, but in many places, there were puddles that I had to avoid. I waded through the forest and sank in the high grass. At least until I came up and left the trees behind. There was wind up there. Wind combined with low temperature creates an unpleasant feeling. I walked searching of the top of mountain or any path that leads to it. First, I saw a pile of rocks in the distance, and after some time I was on place. The views from Svalafjellet could impress with better weather but in this moment, with the low-hanging clouds and the wind, I wanted to come back as soon as possible.

On the way back, I founded some path leads down. I follow it to the wide road. It led me down, but in a completely different place that the one from I started wandering. The mountain has 520m above sea level. The route to the top and back has 9km and you can made it by two and half hour.
