Himakånå, Stølanuten & Rossafjellet
I have read about Himakånå in one of the local newspaper. It is a rock, hanging about 350 m above sea level over the cliff. There is tremendous view at the Lysevatnet lake, Nedstrand village and fiords on south. The locals compare Himakånå to famous atarctions like Trolltunga and Preikestolen.

To get to Himakånå, you need to get to Nedstrand first. The best option is to get there by road 515 or 513 (which is connected with 515). Both roads beginning at E134 but in different places. Optionally you can go to Nedstrand by ferry, if you go from south.
The winter came to Norway early this year and in many places there were lying snow. Fortunately in Nedstrand there still was the fall and sun was shining, when I parked my car along the road 515. The trail begins just after the center of town, by the road. Route is quite short and not so demanding. But after rain it could be wet and slippery.
I found that part of the trail is covered by plastic grating, which is good if you don’t want to get wet, but visually it looks weird. I meet some teenagers at Himakånå. They reached the place right before me and just admiring the views.

I made some pictures and went further to my next point. I planned to reach two summits in neigborhood of Himakånå: Stølanuten (578 m above sea level) and Rossafjellet (574m above sea level). Both mountains were already covered by thin layer of snow, but the route wasn’t difficult. First I came to Stølanuten. I could see Vatsfjorden from it on the north and, much closer, my next point: Rossafjellet. Go down and up again for second summit was also quite easy, even if I had to go on snow and avoid icy rocks. At the place I discovered that the path goes further to another mountain. I decided to keep my plans and went back.
My way back led me between two lakes: Stora Badnavatnet and Litla Badnavatnet. Then I get to the trail which went down. Unfortunately the path, and the road after were covered by ice, and I had to go very carefully. After some time I reach first signs of civilization: the farm, parking lot for wanderers, asphalt road and a few cottages. One careless step and I felt down on icy road. Luckily I hit only my bottom so after a while I could went down again. Soon I reach the 515 road and use the pavement to get to my car.
