Oksen 1241m asl
Mount of Oksen has been one of my target for long time. The mountain seems fabulous on the map, located at the intersection of four fjords, so you can imagine that reaching the summit could bring an unforgettable visual experience. The four fjords mentioned above are the Hardangerfjord with its arms: Eidfjord, Sørfjord and Granvinfjord. My plan was to get to the small village of Djønno at the foot of the mountain, place a tent somewhere or spend the night in the car and go to the top in the morning. The village, consisting of a several houses, surrounded by fruit orchards, was tucked between the slope of the mountain…

A walk along the bottom of the Måbødalen valley
Looking from the edge of the cliff to the bottom of the Måbødalen Valley, it’s hard to understand that there is a path down there and that is possible to reach the foot of the waterfall in just 30 minutes’ walk. The only clue that the trail exists is the outline of the bridge crossing the Bjoreio River. In fact, there is a walking tail down there. When I searched the Internet for a place where I could stop the car…

Vøringsfossen
Vøringfossen. Probably the most visited waterfall in all of Norway. At least that’s what the internet says. With a total height of 182 meters and a free fall of 163 meters, it ranks 83rd of the highest waterfalls in Norway. The explanation of the attractiveness of Vøringfossen can be found in its location (right next to the national road No. 7, connecting Oslo with Bergen), accessibility and the stunning view both from above and bottom of the Måbødalen valley where the water drops. The waterfall originates from the Bjoreio River, which goes through the Hardangervidda plateau. The river flows into the narrow and 7km long Måbødalen valley, with steep slopes,…

Road trip
Norway is not just an opportunity for mountain hikes. My problems with the achilles forced me to avoid hiking trails, but at the same time it opened a quite different possibilities. I decided to go with the car around the Viking country and see places that have been on my list to visit from some time. During the two-day trip, the weather (despite the favorable forecasts) was mainly raining. However, there were better moments, so the photos are not so tragically. Due to the large number of pics I would like to boast, I decided that all the additional attractions that I encountered on the way would be included in…
