Stråtveit

My first visit in Stråtveit was during one rainy day in May (you can check it here). I came back home wet but fascinated that place. And few days ago I’ve got an idea to check how it looks on winter. Stråtveit is an old royal garden located in the forest at the corner of two fiords: Vatsfjord and Yrkefjord. To get there, you have to climb to over 200 meters above sea level and walk about 4-5km through forest. The way is wide and well maintained, so the trip is very easy (except first climbing stage).

On the beginning you can admire the view of Vatsfjord with the mountains on the other shore: Kjort, Tordisnuten and Gaupafjellet. Later, just behind Stråtveit, there is a view point on Yrkefjord and mountains Lammanuten and Grytenuten.

Somewhere in halfway there is a Raudnesvatnet lake, which is also very beautiful place. But the point that fascinated me most when I was here first time were the stone buildings remains hidden in the woods. Surrounded by green shades of nature, it looks amazing. Right now, when everything was covered by snow, the magic of this place is not so exciting but it still looks fine.

Stråtveit during the winter looks amazing. I discovered different places which I could admire than I do when I was here earlier. It shows that it is a place good to visit in any time.

Beginning of the route, short after the sunrise.

Once more Yrkefjord.
And this is me.
