Leknesnepa 610m asl
After finishing the hike to Nordfjellet, I took the ferry back to Skånevik and, leaving the car in a small parking lot just off the islet of Peparen in the center, immediately set off on the next trail. I learned about its existence in the morning from the information board near Skånevik Fjordhotel. The route initially coincides with the Postvegen trail, which I once walked, although from the other side, from the town of Etne.

My goal was the peak of Leknesnepa, 610 m above sea level.and according to the board I could get there in 5 km hike.I passed the buildings and farms of Skånevik and made my way up the wide gravel road.A forest grew around me, obscuring the views behind me.The road was quite steep, so the hike was not easy.At one point, I passed a summer cabin, and soon after I came to a crossroads in the trails.The path going south turned out to be the already mentioned postvegen, the old road connecting Etne and Skånevik, while ‘my’ road was winding further west.It took me to the dam on a small lake, from where I had to continue my journey along a narrow path.
Before I reached Leknesnepa, the path took me close to Tjellenipamountain.And as the path to the peak was not difficult, I climbed there quickly and after a few photos I was already descending to continue my march to the west.I arrived somewhere around 4:00 p.m., after walking over 6 km, not 5, as indicated by the board by the hotel.The views of Skånevikfjorden were amazing.I took a few photos, released the drone and it was time to go back.
On the way back, I met several people, including a female group of compatriots, heading to the same peak.However, they seem to have attacked the mountain from a different starting point, probably Leknes, just outside Skånevik.Without much difficulty I reached the dam on the lake and the gravel road.I went down a parallel route to the one I climbed up until I was greeted by the first buildings of the town.I found the car, and that’s how my journey ended.
